Randolph B. Houston, Jr.
Mr. Houston is a Co-founder of and Principal in FORTKORT & HOUSTON P.C., where his practice focuses on trademark (including trade dress and unfair competition) and copyright counseling, clearance, prosecution, policing, and litigation and trade secret litigation. He also has developed a significant music and entertainment law practice, negotiating deals involving major label recording artists, representing individual musicians, actors, artists, and writers, and speaking and writing on entertainment-related topics. Mr. Houston is also an artist manager, representing recording artists, television and film actors, and comedians.
Prior to co-founding FORTKORT & HOUSTON P.C., Mr. Houston practiced law with top-tier national and regional law firms, including Arnold, White & Durkee, P.C. and Fulbright & Jaworski, LLP. Prior to his law practice, he participated in the Agent Training Program of the prestigious William Morris Agency. Mr. Houston holds a Juris Doctor degree from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law (1995) and a Bachelor of Arts degree from The Pennsylvania State University (1991), and he is licensed to practice law in Texas, Pennsylvania, and New York.

Mr. Houston is also a performing and recording musician and songwriter with more than two decades of experience across all genres of music. He produces for and co-writes with a number of local recording artists and is the owner of a small independent record label. In 2006, Mr. Houston became a Voting (Producer) Member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS), also known as the Recording Academy, the organization responsible for the annual GRAMMY Awards.
Mr. Houston believes firmly that with blessings and accomplishment come responsibility, so community service and volunteerism are of critical importance. Mr. Houston is proud to volunteer his time serving on the Board of Directors of the Wright House Wellness Center (Chairman), the Austin Music Commission, the Leadership Council of CREATE AUSTIN, the Advisory Board of the Austin Community College Commercial Music Management Program, and the Board of Directors of the Alumni Society of the College of Liberal Arts of the Pennsylvania State University, in addition to his past service on the Boards of Directors of the Zachary Scott Theatre Center (of which he still serves on the Education Committee) and Austin Lawyers and Accountants for the Arts. Mr. Houston also volunteers his time mentoring law students and college students who aspire to work in the legal and entertainment fields.
